June 10^th, 3am Micronesia time

Took off from Guam at about 11pm on the 9^th, landed in Yap, Federated States of Micronesia, around 1am.  Went through the small but chaotic open-air Yap customs and baggage claim, and were driven to our modest but comfy hotel (the ESA) in a van with welcome air-conditioning.  The drive was dark and the vegetation thick around us.  Super curious about our surroundings but my eyes are heavy and tired by now.  I can never really sleep on planes.  We collect ourselves in the hotel lobby (all 14 of us: we six interns, six on the science team, one videographer, and two capable teens).  Up to room 201 with Michelle and Sara, and sleep at last.
